Original Music

Elliot Cormack is a lifelong singer/songwriter.

Having played in a variety of bands in the UK for many years, developing a broad range of influences and styles, Elliot moved to Tokyo searching for new musical adventures and opportunities. After forming his first band ENTRADA, an electronic indie rock 3 piece with fellow English musicians, which captured the hearts of many when they arrived on the scene, he then started the next project Kuro Deko as lead vocalist and guitarist. This saw him reaching a wider audience, playing bigger venues and festivals in Japan and Mexico (the latter saw him performing the main stage at Ceremonia Festival supporting Massive Attack) and releasing music internationally. From here he went back to his roots as an acoustic singer/songwriter and has now embarked on a solo project, using live looping and harmonising to create a more introspective and nuanced sound.

BAND PROJECTS

KURO DEKO - synth wave/new wave

Kuro Deko is a band based in Tokyo Japan, the members are Jesus Salinas and Elliot Cormack. Two musicians from very different backgrounds. Jesus, originally from Mexico had spent his life traveling the world, living in different countries and writing music while following the scenes of Berlin, London, Mexico City and eventually Tokyo where he met Elliot. Elliot had left the music scene of Brighton, England and moved to Tokyo to start an indie rock band. After catching a live show Jesus asked Elliot if he’d like to sing on the first single, A Ghost in Town. Jesus’s desire to re-explore the sounds of 80’s synth and new wave music led to them writing a full album together with Jesus exploring the sounds of vintage synthesizers and other instruments creating the melodies and Elliot writing lyrics. The final songs are a product of many long conversations about relationships, moments in time and places they’ve lived and loved. So far two singles have been released, both in collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer Jay de la Cueva and mixed by acclaimed musician Nick Zinner.

ENTRADA - indie electro rock

ENTRADA combine the influences of its three members, bringing pop sensibilities, passion and style.
Soaring vocals, energetic riffing, measured synth and dynamic drumming create a uniquely British sound in the heart of Tokyo.
